One of the most discussed topics in sports news: the football industry’s “big six” will become a part of the newly formed European Super League (ESL).
The goal of the new union is to create a top-notch competition format, which will ensure higher standards and even more financing for the clubs.
It’s a significant reform for the football industry
It has been informed that the Premier League stars will also join ESL. Among them are Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Tottenham. These clubs have agreed to participate in the Super League together with three Spanish and three Italian teams.
Although UEFA and even Great Britain’s Prime Minister have a negative opinion on this decision, many of those involved in football are sure that this model will result only in positive changes for top clubs. At the same time, FIFA has also rejected to treat this competition at the appropriate level and acknowledge it. Moreover, the organization will prohibit ESL members to participate in the World Cup, while UEFA threatens not to allow the players who join the new league to play in the most important matches. Now, all parties want a dialogue to discuss the steps for resolving the conflict.
