The Ukrainian national football team has qualified for Euro 2020 after the spectacular win over their colleagues from Portugal in Kyiv.
In the first half, Andriy Shevchenko’s team gained the lead thanks to the goals scored by Yaremchuk and Yarmolenko at the sixth and twenty-seventh minutes respectively. In the second half, the judge showed the second yellow card to Stepanenko, leaving the Ukrainian team in the minority. Besides, Portugal were awarded a penalty and Ronaldo confidently scored from a penalty kick at the seventy-second minute. That goal means the Portuguese football star will join the group of players who have scored at least seven hundred goals in their career.
During the rest of the match, the team from Portugal was trying to take advantage of the Ukrainian’s minority and score one more goal. However, Andriy Shevchenko’s team did now allow the opponents to hit Pyatov's goal again.
Thus, Ukraine became the leader in Group B having scored 19 points and secured their participation in Euro 2020.
As mentioned earlier, Argentina played a friendly match with Germany. The match ended in a draw 2-2.
