All Ballon d'Or 2019 nominees have been recently announced by the magazine France Football. On the shortlist of thirty men, there are seven players from Liverpool, the winners of the UEFA Champions League of this year.
These players are Salah, Van Dijk, Mane, Firmino, Alexander-Arnold, Wijnaldum and Alisson.
Five players from another famous English football club Manchester City are on the list too: Sterling, Mahrez, de Bruyne, Silva and Aguero.
Ronaldo and Messi, who have won Ballon d'Or record five times each, also feature in the list of contenders.
To the surprise of many, the list of the candidates does not include Paris St-Germain forward Neymar, Tottenham striker Kane and Manchester United midfielder Pogba.
The winner of the Ballon d'Or 2019 will be announced on December 2. The awards ceremony will take place at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris. As for the favourites to win the award, it is possible to name Van Dijk since he was announced Uefa Player of the Year this August.
The winner of the Ballon d'Or 2018 was Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric.
As mentioned earlier, England’s national football team players faced racism insults in the Euro qualifying match against Bulgaria.
