The Ukrainian president has ordered to pass gambling laws legalizing gambling operations by December 1, 2019. This announcement was made during the recent meeting with the heads of Verkhovna Rada, the Cabinet of Ministers, and Law Enforcement Agencies.
Volodymyr Zelensky added that the draft of the gambling legislation must be completed by the end of this month. According to the president’s office representatives, the regulation of the gambling industry is a significant step within the strategy of de-shadowing the Ukrainian economy.
The ban on any betting or gambling operation in Ukraine was introduced in 2009. Nevertheless, the main part of the industry remained in place having driven their operation underground. Financial experts say that in 2017 alone Ukraine could have generated $1.5 billion in taxes from the casino industry.
President Zelensky’s plan for the industry legalization is aimed at introducing casino gambling at major hotels in the Black Sea region, which is flooded with tourists.
As mentioned earlier, this autumn an important event dedicated to affiliate marketing will be held in the capital of Ukraine.
