Despite numerous rumours, the World Series of Poker is going to stay at the Rio Convention Centre not only for the current year but in the next one as well.
According to the recent tweet by Seth Palansky (WSOP VP of Corporate Affairs), the event will very much likely take place at the convention centre in Rio de Janeiro in 2021.
Rumours concerning the venue of World Series have been spreading for many years. For instance, in 2018 one Twitter account was disseminating information that the tournament would change its location and move to the Caesars convention center after the construction works there were over.
Over the past ten years, there have been numerous talks about Rio’s sale. However, according to Palansky, even if the rumour was true, there would be no difference since the new owner of the venue would inherit those agreements.
Despite all the pros and cons of the location, the WSOP Vice President said that for the time being everybody willing to visit the tournament can make arrangements without any doubts – WSOP is not going to leave Rio.
As mentioned earlier, two famous representatives of the poker industry had a serious argument regarding the issue of how much a professional player should earn.
