Foreign and Ukrainian gambling experts have discussed prospects for creating a modern gambling market during the Kyiv iGaming Affiliate Conference, which was attended by the Login Casino team.
The adoption of legislation, the introduction of the best international practices, the creation of a monitoring and control system for market operators, the importance of a responsible gambling policy and the change in the attitude of Ukrainians towards the existence of a gambling market in the country - these and other important aspects were discussed by gambling experts in the capital of Ukraine on December 18 at Kyiv iGaming Affiliate Conference.
According to Charmaine Hogan, the Head of Legal Affairs at Playtech, it is important to immediately establish effective rules in the gambling market in Ukraine. At the same time, she claimed that the excessive pressure on the market would have the opposite effect - players would prefer illegal gambling. The expert gave examples of Great Britain and Italy: a number of problems arose in these countries because of prohibitions related to gambling, in particular, in advertising.
According to Hogan, gambling should become more proactive: artificial intelligence and machine learning should be utilized in order to protect players and prevent the addiction to gambling activities in the early stages. Thanks to this, regulators will not be forced to make the rules for the market stricter.
Ario Mansoori, an associate at Nordic Gambling, spoke about the role of the gambling business in financial monitoring, that is, in the fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism. The expert from Sweden shared detailed information about methods for identifying players for land-based and online gambling establishments.
Carlo Pagan, the former Vice President of Marketing at European Casino Association, discussed such aspects as reputation, proper casino brand positioning and geomarketing. He gave several examples of the promotion of gambling establishments and noted that it is very important for Ukraine to increase the image of the gambling business in order to attract investments and interest foreign players.
Nadya Hambach, a gambling law expert at Velchev & Co., shared information on the importance of the process of licensing, its benefits and exact parameters that indicate effective regulation in the gambling industry. Another expert Sergio Suárez from Gaming Laboratories International spoke about the process of certification of gambling activities using the example of the company, which he represents.
The last part of the conference was held in a round-table format with the participation of Ukrainian experts.
As mentioned earlier, according to a survey, Ukrainians do not want gambling to become legal in the country.
