Spillemyndigheden, the Danish regulator of the gambling industry, has provided some news about casino and other related products and described actions taken for fighting against the black market.
The report overviewed the authority’s work to prevent the operation of unlicensed operators in the country.
Spillemyndigheden confirms that black market has diminished
The regulatory body used the results of a recent survey to confirm that the number of illegal gambling companies providing services to Danish players had decreased. Moreover, Denmark is one of the leaders in terms of legal market share. It has granted licenses to a set of reliable operators, GGR of which is growing constantly.
The Danish Gambling Authority has also described the steps it makes in case of detecting an illegitimate casino. The regulator warns the website owner about the law breach. If the operator doesn’t respond to the warning, Spillemyndigheden blocks the casino with the help of the court.
Summing up 2020, Denmark’s regulator emphasized in its report that there had been five investigations related to illegal gambling services providers, which was two more in comparison to the previous year. The authoritative body considers investigations to be the main tool in the fight against the black market, together with individually developed search systems. Thanks to them, the regulator banned sixteen websites offering unauthorized gambling in 2020.
