The international online poker platform Americas Cardroom (ACR) announced a new Progressive Knockout Online (PKO) event with the total prize pool of $50 million. According to the latest poker news, there will be more than 500 events played in PKO format.
Americas Cardroom guaranteed a 50 million dollar event that would be played online from September 9 till November 1. The digital poker platform also stated that there would be six Sundays that could bring $1M for a winner. The last Sunday, on November 1, will bring a 5 million dollar prize for the winner.
At the same time, ACR promises 500+ events ruled by PKO format during the series. More than ten tables every day with different buy-ins are also available for the participants. The registered clients can join any tournament having only a few bucks on the account. At the same time, more risky punters can compete for bigger prizes, betting a few hundred dollars while entering an event.
What is the PKO format, and why is it engaging in poker?
A Progressive Knockout Online approach is widely used during poker events. A PKO format means dividing the knockout bounty for your own head and guaranteed pocket. In practice, it means that the player who knockouts many players increases the bounty on himself/herself and now is a more wishable opponent to call. It makes the overall poker play more dynamic and interesting while decreasing the dominance of massive stacks. Those who have earned more during the game are quite likely to have a bigger bounty, which becomes an additional target for the opponents who want to win some guaranteed income.
