Maximum Number of Licenses for Bookies in Belgium Decreased

The Belgian gambling legislation includes the item that fixes the maximum number of betting licenses that can be given to the operators. The latest Royal Decree, which came into force at the end of 2010, expanded the number of sports betting licenses up to 34. This rule was in force until the end of 2020.

However, Belgium has already accepted a new Royal Decree. The local Gaming Commission and government dealt with a renewed law that would remain in effect until July 31, 2022. This new document reduced the number of maximum betting licenses to 31.
