A lot of leading gaming companies have expressed their support regarding a new GB-facing safe gambling initiative directed at tackling the problems gambling activities can cause to players and minors.

Major Operators Commit to Safer Gambling Initiative

These commitments have been developed to help the UKGC’s national strategy aimed at reducing harms. The list of companies that have already signed up to the initiative includes bet365, Caesars, GVC, Playtech, William Hill, and others.

5 key commitments of the strategy:

  • prevent underage gambling;
  • strengthen rules for gambling advertising and marketing;
  • increase support for treating gambling harms;
  • protect and empower clients;
  • promote the culture of safe gambling.

It is noteworthy that a new representative organization for the British betting and gaming industry, the Betting and Gaming Council, is going to be launched officially. The body will represent casinos, iGaming businesses, and betting shops with the aim to guarantee a safe, fair and pleasant gambling experience for every customer.

As mentioned earlier, from October 1, the National Gambling Helpline started operating 24/7 to provide support for people suffering from gambling-related harms.
