The Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) representative, a gambling regulatory organization in the Netherlands, announced a few details regarding the upcoming Remote Gaming Act (RGA). The RGA has to take effect on 1 March 2021 and bring clear rules in the Dutch online gambling sphere. Login Casino's latest legislation news continues looking at the regulatory changes worldwide, now focusing the attention on the Netherlands.

KSA Shared a Few Details Concerning the Future RGA

The chairman of the Netherlands Gaming Authority (KSA), Rene Jansen, gave useful information concerning the RGA. Thus, the Remote Gaming Act in the Netherlands will take effect on 1 March 2021, while the appearance of the real online market will be six months later - on 1 September. To prepare the future operators of online poker rooms, casinos, and betting companies to the new reality, governors give them more information.

Thus, among the most interesting aspects is the period of no violation for the licenses' applicants, which must be almost three years. It means that applicants have not to be in the KSA's blacklist since 1 July 2018 if they want to start the licensing procedure on 1 March. As the online gaming activity wasn't regulated yet in the country and the illegal sector was active, some pretenders have to wait until they can apply for permission.

Other important details about the RGA

Rene Jansen also announced the dates when further information would be available. Thus, precise technical requirements towards online gambling software will be presented in October, which is a part of the cooperation between the KSA and the European Commission. The same month documentation of responsible gambling will become available for everyone. In November, KSA plans to present an actual application process, including all the terms and conditions that every contender has to meet.
