Italy’s iGaming Business May See Legal Battles

According to recent information, offshore operators have serious intentions to battle for the prolongation of their licenses, as Italy’s government isn’t in tune for this. For example, not so long ago, the Senate has rejected two requests for the license extension submitted by foreign gambling companies.

Three operators are ready to stand up for their licenses

Such situations, when the government refuses to permit companies to operate, cause distrust among other market players. Approximately thirty operators have their licensing coming up to the end, which means that they will need to do something for the prolongation soon.

At the current time, three companies have already filed a lawsuit in court against the customs and monopolies agency. They are Betway, Nexigames, and a young operator SportPesa. The result of legal proceedings is the court’s decision to permit companies to provide their services until the next meeting, which is scheduled for November 4.
