Germany’s upcoming treaty is the main topic for discussion in recent news about the gambling industry. However, the transitional regime for unlicensed operators was another problem, which required urgent solving.
As it has been informed by Germany’s lawmakers, all states have finally agreed on providing the transition period for operators. It means that they will be able to continue operating without legal punishment. At the same time, they will need to comply with the set of requirements to be eligible for this mercy from the government.
What are the requirements for operators?
Operators have to quit previously used models of operation and adapt to new regulatory reality. The gambling treaty will come into effect next year, but its draft is already applicable to the gambling industry. That is why companies will have to follow the law, which is mostly oriented towards the prevention of problem gambling.
For example, online casino owners have to set the maximum stake limit in slot machines not more than one euro. In addition to this, players are allowed to make deposits that don’t exceed one thousand euros per month. Although lawmakers have decided not to ban virtual casino games, roulette and blackjack are still prohibited for operators to offer them during the transitional regime.
