The news about the casino market in Lithuania was marked by the violation of rules by one of the country’s operators.

First Operator Is Penalized in Lithuania

It is worth mentioning that the fine issued by the regulator is the first after the permission to penalize gambling companies based on the Gambling Act.

Which rules did the operator infringe?

According to the Gambling Supervisory Authority’s statement, UAB Tete-a-Tete Casino didn’t manage to comply with all regulations. Customers’ bets and winnings became the major reason why it was obliged to pay penalty. The operator is accused of putting restrictions on stakes as well as players’ winnings. It is a direct violation of the gambling law because the Lithuanian regulator demands clear rules for casino users and prohibits any limits without a reasonable basis.

The infringement of the Gambling Act by UAB Tete-a-Tete Casino was considered by inspectors who didn’t find any grounds for such action. That is why the company has to pay fifteen thousand euros for the shortcoming. At the same time, it has a legal right to challenge the decision in a judicial procedure.
