EGBA’s Report: Did Gambling Become Safer in Europe?

According to the hottest casino news, the online gambling industry in Europe has become safer. Over 70% of customers use safer gambling tools. 133% of communications that operators sent to players in 2020 were dedicated to responsible gambling promotion.

EGBA’s Report: Did Gambling Become Safer in Europe?

The European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) has made confident steps to safe online gambling in Europe. All undertaken actions have already given the results. In a first annual sustainability report, the CEOs of EGBA’s member companies assure to follow all needed requirements for a safer online gambling sector in Europe.

As a result of joint efforts of all EGBA’s members the online gambling industry in Europe has become safer in just one year. Maarten Haijer, Secretary-General, EGBA, has said that he’s so glad to see that members fulfill all commitments by sharing safe gambling tools.

Key achievements in the 2020 EGBA report

  • 75% of customers had at least one activated safer gambling tool on the betting accounts (2019 – 61%);
  • 2.8 million personalized messages to the customers for promoting safer gambling (2019 – 1.2 million, 133% more);
  • 14.2 million generic communications were sent to promote safer gambling;
  • €408 million were contributed by sponsors to European sport and streaming rights payments (20% more than in 2019).
