The Dutch gambling regulator, the KSA (Kansspelautoriteit), informed all the gambling operators about the must to activate the Central Register for Exclusion of Games of Chance (CRUKS) by October 1, 2021. The upcoming activation of the Remote Gambling Act in Holland is the awaited legislative case as it will open the digital gambling sector for the Dutch. However, the implementation of online gaming goes in parallel with implementing important changes to the gambling legislation.

Thus, all official gambling operators have to connect to the national register of the vulnerable players and to deny any access of the CRUKS -included to the gambling activity. Those who won’t be able to organize the connection with the CRUKS will be punished by license withdrawal.

What is the Dutch CRUKS in short?

It is an initiative to battle gambling addiction problems in the Netherlands. It includes both voluntary and compulsory (operators or relatives can try to activate it) registration, which means adding the vulnerable person to the register that is available to all licensed gambling operators. The traditional exclusion term in Holland is six months, with further reviewing of the changes in a punter’s gaming behavior.
