The Danish national lottery and betting provider deploys ID card implementation across the country. The gambling operator wants all their 2700+ retail shops to use a new approach to make gambling safer. It means better player protection, excluding under-age gambling, and decreasing match-fixing cases.
The latest betting news is mostly dedicated to the changes in advertising rules, but the national Denmark lottery and betting provider continues more transparent gambling implementation. They introduced the Player ID card approach almost a year ago, but the real steps would be made at the end of October. The last day of the month will be a starting point when punters have to show their identification cards in the retail shops in the Danske Spil network.
Why will ID playing cards be implemented?
The primary reason for implementing identification documents is a better controlling ability that will ensure safer gambling. The Danish government is concerned about the issue of underage betting, and implementing ID cards will exclude such a problem in the national gambling network at least.
The second reason for documental identification is the desire to make all the gambling process more transparent. The anonymous bets are one of the governmental bodies' aims to exclude because uncontrolled punting hides cash flows and facilitates match-fixing cases. Even though Danske Spil representatives understand that there are still enough places for anonymous betting, the national operator has to become an example for other providers.
The issue of comfortable usage was one more aspect of the attention. The organization devoted enough time to develop a card that will be fast to receive and easy to use. Of course, the Danish gambling operator designed a mobile application that will contain all the needed information about the player. Experts also assume that implementing ID cards is also a step towards gambling addiction as the company will be able to analyze the gambling behavior in some period and define possible problems.
