The UK National Lottery operator Camelot has confirmed that it welcomes the government’s intention to set a new minimum age for playing – 18. This decision was much discussed in the recent lottery news.

Camelot is ready to apply new limits as soon as possible
According to the operator representatives, it considers the changes in the age restrictions reasonable and is even ready to apply them in the nearest time. Although the final date of the law enactment is scheduled for the end of October 2021, Camelot has the intention to raise the age for lottery players significantly prior to the planned date. It is worth mentioning that new age limits are a part of the overall reconsideration of the Gambling Act, and this also includes a series of consultations.
Camelot noted that it had already started the preparatory activities. The company has got the necessary information concerning licensing and other aspects from the Gambling Commission and is going to implement the regulations till April. Besides, Camelot isn’t the only operator that supports the review of current law. Several other top-tier operators of the UK gambling industry also welcomed the decision. Among them are William Hill and Flutter Entertainment.
