The Australian responsible authorities continue to fight against illegal gambling in the country. The latest casino news about the black market shows that unlicensed operators can hardly remain in operation.
The Australian Communications and Media Authority (shortly ACMA) has blocked several more online casinos. The same procedure took place not so long ago, but new law breakers were detected again.
ACMA’s ban is based on users’ complaints
Customers’ complaints are the main stimulus for the regulatory body to investigate the cases connected with illegal websites. This time, the ACMA has received a number of requests concerning infringements of the current law. According to confirmed information, several casinos didn’t comply with the Interactive Gambling Act 2001.
The authority obliged Internet services vendors to block such websites as PlayCroco, Golden Reels, Bonza Spins, House of Pokies, etc. The first cases of prohibiting unlicensed casinos were in 2019. Till nowadays, more than two hundred online platforms that provide gambling services have been blocked. Moreover, the ACMA stated that over a hundred casinos had left the Australian market since 2017.
